I've always hated when they do this to uptempo songs - it's so indulgent and unnecessary, and don't even get me started on Calum Scott's version of "Dancing On My Own"

But whatever gives her joy in the run up to the contest I guess. I'm pretty sure the majority of us would much rather have seen a proper live vocal performance of the ESC version but there's plenty of rehearsal time to come I guess

According to the interview Efendi did with Eurovoix (see link above), this is what she said with regards to the staging of her 'live' performance:

• bright colours
• costumes will be really beautiful
• the dancing will be really beautiful
• a completely different show to the intended staging concept for Cleopatra (the intention is to recreate an Egyptian atmosphere onstage)
• different staging in her back up tape performance (costumes and dancing will be different)

Efendi revealed that Finland, Israel (YES!!) and the United Kingdom were among her favourites songs competing this year.

Efendi is also vaccinated, so it will be highly unlikely for her not to be in Rotterdam.

In a recent interview azerbaijani representative Efendi has revealed more details on her Eurovision staging for her song "Mata Hari".

She is such a joy to watch. My first time watching her in interview. She really radiates positivity and joyful vibes.
And I like that she is involved in the helping to shape the song.
Interestingly, she did record all 6 of the potential songs, hopefully we get to hear the other 5 in the near future.

Azerbaijan being Azerbaijan, I am sure we are in for a treat for the staging. It's such a slight pity that Azerbaijan is coming before 2 equally high-impact songs (Ukraine and Malta which will also pull all stops in their stagings). Hopefully, her staging will stands out.
