Re: AUSTRALIA 2014 - Jessica Mauboy - Never Be The Same

why it wasn't "Never Be The Same" as said everywhere before?

Probably because they weren't aware of the restricted time. Jessica was only allowed 2.5 minutes to perform so I guess they scrapped NBTS. :'(

Jessica was extremely croaky! I think she let her nerves get the worst of her...

I liked the video part. Australia knocking the UK out of the way was especially funny  Also the dancing part was great, but Jessica's part was... I'm sorry, but on the moments she sounded lika a goat.

An idea for Australia - buy little Greek island (Greek sells now some) and make it Australia in Europe, so you can enter EBU and participate in ESC

I wish EBU could let go of their stupid rule and let Australia join, I mean, is the rule more important than Australia?

What for? Is Australia a special country?

I don't think that the fact that participants must be in Europe (or at least close to it) is a stupid rule at all? Do you remember it's EUROvision, right?

I hate to break it to you but there is a risc that even more countries will withdraw next year, such as Slovenia, Georgia, Israel, Macedonia etc.
What would be better than to have a new nation that loves Eurovision a lot?

Next year will be the 60th edition of Eurovision, I don't think that'll happen. Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria are likely to come back. Serbia, Croatia & Cyprus may return too.

And if it happens to have less participants than this year, than so be it, one semi-final will be enough. There are Eurovision fans here and there all over the world, that doesn't mean that Mexico or South Africa are legitimate to take part. Personally, I found it nice when they mentioned in the past that people in Australia were watching the contest, but that's all. Inviting a singer this year was excessive, could it be more random? We're in Denmark after all, it was out of place.

I don't know why it's a fan wish to get Australia taking part, I mean it's on the other side of the planet, there should be a Wordvision then, not Eurovision. Anyway, one country wouldn't make up for the series of withdrawal, if it were to happen.

withdraw next year, such as Slovenia,

I don't think that after a rare Slovenian qualification, :sl: will withdraw.
Maybe :tr: will come back, and why not the microstates return and a :kz: and :li: debut ?

An Australian becoming a true ESC (UK) fan

Well I was born in the UK, so I always been a UK fan xD

The interval act wasn't so bad after all, but it was still pretentious and could have been much better.

In terms of what?

Well I don't need to go into detail, but you mentioned geography. Azerbaijan is part of Europe on a technicality. I, and many, don't consider it to be a European country.
