Re: Rumia 142 | Valkeat - Aallot

In NSC 143 Rumia sent the main theme of Life is Strange, to prove there's a wide variety of styles to be found in video game music. Golden Hour is a piece written by Jonathan Morali, the leader of an indie band Syd Matter. It's a calm composition inspired by modern indie music and it captures perfectly the game's reflective mood.

Jonathan Morali - Golden Hour

Our 144 entry is a little more upbeat, but also fairly calm. It's a simple, light-hearted ska song. Picture a sunny May afternoon, you're sitting in a park with nothing to do and not a penny in your pocket. And you decide you don't need to try hard and rush anywhere, cause all you need it the sun and the sky above you and your life is just fine as it is.

Re: Rumia 145 | Rockself.com Festival #9 | Soon | Last ever?

It'll already be 9th edition of Rockself.com Festival, a traditional anniversary NF and one of the most important events in Rumia. Since a century of our the country's participation in NSC is coming to an end, it's time to decide our approach to the contest in next century. So far Rockself.com Festival has been the only way for an artist to reappear as Rumia's representant in NSC. Quite a few of them yearn to go to NSC under Rumia's flag again, though, so we might lift that rule.

As for the NF itself, we're thinking about making it the last one, at least in its current format. There's an idea to hold special second chance NFs for the next 8 editions, with all the past Rockself.com songs.

Anyway, the 9th R.comF is going to happen for sure. Prepare for tons of "pls vote in my NF" spam in your inboxes!

Re: Rumia 146 | Force of Nature

Tribals hunting mechanical beasts in a postapocalyptic jungle. That's probably as ::rum as you can get.

In NSC 146 Rumia will be represented by Mircale of Sound, a composer of music inspired by video games. Whatever the game, his songs do a better job than any official trailer.

Force of Nature is a tribute to Horizon: Zero Dawn. It's a story set in a world where people have gone back to hunter-gatherer societies and the wilds are roamed by mechanical beasts of unknown origin. The main protagonist, Aloy, is a hunter, who grew up as an outcast, shunned by the tribe due to her birth.

Re: Rumia 146 | Force of Nature

So Rumia has been around for 100 editions now. I'm not planning to celebrate this fact with a lengthy speech. I'll celebrate with music, for that's what NSC is about.

It only feels right to make this 100th entry personal. As personal as it can get. So, yeah... I wrote a song.

I'm not singing about NSC (or singing at all), it's just a little bit of music that came from my very own self. I hope you like it.

Rumian Philharmonic Orchestra - Galean Forest

For those not familiar with NSC geography, Galea is a region in the north-west of Natia, where Rumia is located.

Re: Rumia 146 | Force of Nature

There were plans for the 9th Rockself.com Festival to be the last one. To enter our 2nd century with a new philosophy. But NSC is like the Great Pyramids of ancient Prasia - unchanging, eternal. So here we are, for the 10th time previous Rumian participants have submitted 9 songs. After they perform, the public from other countries will decide who will represent our country in NSC once more.

1. Miracle of Sound - Stay by my Side

2. Patty Gurdy - Gurdy's Green

3. Therion - Theme of Antichrist

4. Light in Babylon - Kipur

5. Pentakill - Deathfire Grasp

6. Peter Crowley - Borealis

7. Anna RF - Jump

8. Wagakki Band - Ikusa

9. Almora - Kaf Dağının Ardında

Voting system
15 - 12 - 9 - 7 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

Re: Rumia 166 | Rockself.com Festival #11 | National Final

Rockself.com Festival is a tradition as old as Rumia itself. Once every 10 editions we gather round in some shed in a forest, for a ceremony of music appreciation. We invite our recent NSC participants to play their other works (hoping they don't get eaten by wolves on their way). And we ask strangers in distant countries to choose our next entry from amongst them. All this makes perfect sense.
