Re: CYDONI-GIBBERIA 90 - Godspeed You! Black Emperor - We Drift Like Worried Fire

Well, you guys asked for it!

NSC 90
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
We Drift Like Worried Fire

Experts in the craft of making ridiculously lengthy post-rock pieces, GY!BE's latest album Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend! features just four songs in its repetoire but lasts for an hour. After returning from a near-decade hiatus, the Montréal ensemble will represent Cydoni-Gibberia in the 90th contest with the soaringly epic and continuously building middle piece to this latest album, We Drift Like Worried Fire. Immerse yourself in the soundscapes and the 20 minutes will soon fly by, and hopefully you'll be wanting to take the ride all over again.

Re: CYDONI-GIBBERIA 91 - Lemâitre - Time To Realize

NSC 91
Lemâitre
Time To Realize

A particular favourite band of mine for a while, Lemâitre have always been pipped to NSC by other flavour-of-the-minute songs. However, in NSC 91 the Norwegian fucking-awesome-tropop duo get their chance at a crack at the title, with the towering "Time To Realize". A fairly short burst of energy preceded by a piano build-up, the song has rocketed up the Cydu music charts recently and so it only seems right that the group get the chance they so definitely deserve.

I'll be my own king, rock the club, my aim is true,
This is my old thing, feels the same but still it's new,
Where have I been? Too late to turn now,
It's time to realize...

Oh the irony, I'm born in 1984,
Or '83, whatever, who the f
uck knows?
Had no worries before my father got ill,
It's time to realize he will rule the world still.

I'll be my own king, rock the club, my aim is true,
This is my old thing, feels the same but still it's new,
Where have I been? Too late to turn now,
It's time to realize...

What is the point of holding a NF with 4 voters though?

I'd of course be voting. More often than not, Cygovisions are better than the actual NSC edition they precede.
