I present you my very first Icelandic song for Worldvision. I went to search after some songs, but I actually wanted to send something folky or mythical for my first participating as my brand new country Iceland. I was so happy when I found this song and saw it was eligible to enter. I've already sent this group 'The Frostroses' for a spin-off where I became 2nd, but that was with another song. The song was available in both English as Icelandic, but I decided to go for Icelandic because it's such a beautiful language. I just like this song because it has something nice, something special, something ... Icelandic! I want to thank everyone for the nice comments in the LL and I hope to reach the final of course!

Oh, and here's the English version if someone is interested. It differs slightly from the Icelandic version and has some tunes that I actually like more, like the violin(?) at 1:01 that gives the song a bit more feeling.
But I still think the Icelandic language fits the song more than English.

Hint for the Icelandic entry for WV 26:

The picture represents the symbolic meaning in the song, but also the melody of the song. The song sounds quite happy, but the message is more or less at the sad side.
It's special to me because I sometimes find myself in the same situation.

Here is the second entry for Iceland. After reaching the final with Frostrósir (Loga Á Ný) I went searching for some new songs. I found some songs, but I just felt it wasn't right to send those. I would normally like them in normal conditions and will probably send them later, but this one was quite special to me because I was feeling quite down the past week. It actually cheered me a bit up. As I saw in the LL, many people found it (too) cute and also very cheesy, but the message behind it (read the lyrics!) is quite nice and in my eyes quite realistic. There are many people to pretend to be happy and all, but are sad on the inside. I just love the part at 0:32 where they start smiling. It's a little detail. Hope you guys like it!

Hope you guys like it! The genre of this song is bluegrass, a sub-genre of American Country. It's totally a different style that Johanna presented to us at the Eurovision Song Contest. The video may seem a bit dull (and it actually is quite dull), but it gives a specific atmosphere to the song which make it very likeable. It's simple but energetic, and that's what I seek in most of the songs that I like. The band, Baggalútur, is quite popular in Iceland and they decided to cooperate with Johanna to make this masterpiece. It's a song about a mother who's going out to bars to find a father for her children. The translation of the title is ‘Mama needs to party’. In my eyes, the song totally fit her and I wish to see more of her in this genre!
