You guys are amazing. So, "In the Eye of the Storm" joins the "Club 18" that consists of Svanur, Ástarsorg and Color Decay... I just love my dear number 18. I will reserve that place from now on so Iceland is firm on 18th place from the first scoreboard on and the points you give me doesn't matter. At least I would be in every final then
Actually I am quite happy with this result since I didn't expect to qualify at all.. I thought it's too eccentric. But maybe this song was refreshing for the community considering we rarely have songs like this one in WV. Anyway. Things are still working well for me in WV. Most approaches I try and risks I take are successful and I am quite grateful. I don't take it for granted. Every final qualification gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I feel bad for people who are rather unlucky in WV but the example of Romeo shows us that you can quickly rise from "rags to riches" if you keep being stubborn and don't lose motivation.

Plans for WV 73:

- It will be a returning artist
- I usually send him/her/them in winter because I consider her/him/them a very winter-ish artist.
- The song will be a full instrumental

Yes, Árstíðir became my personal winter band... I sent them back in December 2014 (my WV debut) and then in December 2015 (my last entry of my first Iceland era) ... Now, in January 2017 the time has come to bring them back to WV. I can't help me. Their songs just make me think on Icebergs and snowy landscapes... they have a very cold but at the same time pleasing and charming sound I always get goosebumps in this song when the string start playing around 2:45... it's an overwhelming beauty exposing in that moment and I just want this song to never stop.
As cherished Gabe pointed out their latest album "Hvel" was beyond amazing and had a couple of gems. One of them, "Himinhvel" was good enough to make it on 9th place in WV 57 and it was a big surprise to me. What are the chances for Ró in this edition? I literally have no idea. To quote from a famous 1980s song Hoping the best but expecting the worst . Anyway, I was delighted about the positive feedback during the LL and it makes me a bit more confident. However, especially in the second half of this Semi there were of course a couple of strong rivals but damn, WV is no kindergarten. WV is a battlefield. Bring it on!

I can happily announce that I decided for my WV 74 entry.

Once again, it will be a returning artist. Yes, I am very uncreative and probably it's only a matter of time until people will call my choices boring. Please mind that I have to chose from a pool of 320,000 people though.

I've planned to send this band again in this edition already months ago but originally it should be a different song (from a different album). I decided to change my plans cause there is a song of them I love much more right now so I feel like it's the right time for sending it.

The song I'm gonna send could be described as a beautiful, soothing and dreamy downtempo song.

Somewhere in the internet I found a very interesting opinion about the song

"Seriously... when I listen to this song the following scenery comes to my mind.. Imagine the following things happening in slow-motion: A dusty evening in a village in the Mideast. Desert athmosphere, the bright moon is spending its light while the soldiers are running, screaming, hiding in covers, being in a fight with radical Islamists who are firing back from simple thick-walled houses. All of a sudden a bright light appears and everyone starts protecting their eyes with their hands. Then the light fades away and all soldiers throw away their weapons. The Islamists as well as the soldiers leave their hidings and then approach one another with arms extended. They start crying and their tears dropping from their eyes into the dust. Finally the soldiers hug each other. Everyone is leaving the battlefield chatting and laughing while the sun goes up. Yeah.. I think this song could really be a war ender."
