Look where we are
We used to be the rockstars
Who never thought of no harm
'Til this thing we call life stopped gleaming
I wish there was a way to go back dreaming

Remembering gets so hard
When time is moving so fast
Wish there was a way to know that we're in
The good old days before we all just leave 'em

I tried getting rid of the pain
I tried to make it go away, but it probably won't change
Always thinking 'bout my own worries
Remember back when we had no worries?
Now life just ain't hitting the same
I sit and miss and reminisce about innocent old days
When I was afraid of nobody
Now I'm afraid of being a nobody

Don't wanna leave my bed
I'll just stay and never get it together
'Cause the voices in my head
They keep saying it'll never get better

Look where we are
We used to be the rockstars
Who never thought of no harm
'Til this thing we call life stopped gleaming
I wish there was a way to go back dreaming

Remembering gets so hard
When time is moving so fast
Wish there was a way to know that we're in
The good old days before we all just leave 'em

Sometimes I got this kinda sting that's right inside my chest
Its only purpose is convincing me that I'm a mess
And even though it's always been an uninvited guest
It finds a way in nonetheless
Wish I could change my address
And you know
Just be somebody else for a couple of days
Although I'm pretty sure we all feel the same kinda way
'Cause if you think about it
Aren't we all set in a place
Where we look back at better days
And wish they weren't so far away?

I wish that I could just go back and be the way I was
I wish I'd still not give a damn 'bout how I come across
I wish the way I saw myself had never gotten lost
In all the worries, all the thoughts, overthinking all the parts
So exhausted, always caught up inside my doubts and flaws
And I'ma count them all
Somebody catch me, I'm 'bout to fall
Yeah, I'm 'bout to fall
Can we press pause?
Or do a restart
And be who we are?

We used to be the rockstars
Who never thought of no harm
'Til this thing we call life stopped gleaming
I wish there was a way to go back dreaming

Remembering gets so hard
When time is moving so fast
Wish there was a way to know that we're in
The good old days before we all just leave 'em

Didn't we?
(We used to be the rockstars)
Didn't we?
(We used to be the rockstars)
(We used to be the rockstars)

Remembering gets so hard
When time is moving so fast
Wish there was a way to know that we're in
The good old days before we all just leave 'em

in germany we have again a black box with rumours, more rumors, the very special EC situation where is a lot of pressure coming from the outside ect.
after this short video 2 days ago i have following theory.
through the big fanpressure the responsible persons at the broadcaster can't avoid eskimo callboy in the NF final but perhaps they or some people of them don't like EC really as the winner and so they can make it very difficult for EC,by offering(choosing) a few very big acts like old big names (scorpions?,santiano again? xcookie ) or popular charts acts like this act glockenbach ect.
this is only a little (conspiracy) theory by me of course.xqueenbitch

If they don't want them to win they could just establish an "expert" jury like they did in 2013. I think the current system works in Eskimo Callboys favor. They got the hype.

It seems there will be six songs in our NF:

Have you read this passage?

"Das entspricht der von uns mehrfach diskutierten Vorbehalte, ob Antenne Brandenburg seinen im Durchschnitt 54-jährigen Hörer/innen wirklich zum Frühstückskaffee „Pump It“ von den Eskimo Callboys zumuten würde."

Translation:

This corresponds to the reservations we have discussed several times as to whether Antenne Brandenburg would really expect its listeners, who are on average 54 years old, to have “Pump It” by the Eskimo Callboys for breakfast coffee.

xroflxroflxroflxroflxrofl

I mean, the 54 yrs old can start with fitness and listen to Pump it! xrollinglol

Well, still don´t know why Antenne Brandenburg is in there, I´d say that rbb 88.8 is more of a "Pop wave". xthink

I don´t know about you, but after breakfast I`m really not in the mood for fitness. ;)

You could combine both: xrofl

Nn0X4e94pE1Gd0K57ouT8C1QKMB08Sjh8fnELc-HtLHLVG3fY_Sm3JE=s0-d

But you are right, why A. Brandenburg takes part is a mystery (or rather not that is).

Just look at the Antenne Brandenburg playlist:

Would you consider a radio channel that plays stuff like Lady Gaga next to 60s songs like "California Dreamin" and sometimes even schlager by Helene Fischer a pop channel?? I wouldn´t to be honest. xthink

I mean... music that Antenne Brandenburg plays aside, but I don't know why the journalist thinks the fact that they're on average 54 is important. People who are 50 today were in their 20's in 1990's, so I don't think a possibility of them liking a metalcore song is that far fetched.

You are right about the age, but still less people who were in their 20s then listened to Metal. I think that Antenne Brandenburg is afraid about its reputation when people take offense when listening to such an "extreme" song. But this idea is silly of course! I think they should introduce EVERY song that will be in the NF, no matter if Rock, Metal, Pop, hip-hop, reggae or whatever genre!

Still weird that they choose Antenne Brandenburg since it´s not really a pop channel.

According to German Wikipedia AB is a "Major AC" channel. You probably don´t know what that is. Well, let me please explain it to you. ;)

First the term AC. It´s the abbreviation of "Adult Contemporary", the most common radio format around the world. Its focus is clearly on the music from the last few decades til now, there´s only little moderation. The target groups are people from 14-49 years.

There are many different subgrenres of AC, depending on what kind of music you can hear there. These are the subgrenres and a few German radio channels that fit into this category.

Hot AC - Focusing on pop music from the charts, with some hits from the past twenty years as an addition. Channels that fit into this profile: Bayern 3, MDR Jump, SWR 3, hr3, SR 1, NDR 2,Bremen Vier,...

Current-Based AC - A mixture of current pop music and songs from the 80s and 90s. Channels like this: WDR 2, rbb 88.8,...

Oldie-Based AC - Channels like this are focussing on older songs, mostly from the 70s and 80s, newer songs only get played occasionally. Examples for this: Bayern 1, SWR 1, SR3, WDR 4, Bremen Eins, hr1, state programmes of NDR, state programmes of MDR,...

Major AC: Playing a very wide mix of different genres, for example a German Schlager can be followed by a song of Lady Gaga. The only big channel that really fits in here is Antenne Brandenburg, maybe some smaller local channels as well.

Hope this didn´t bore you, but I thought it could be helpful to show the differences between the different types of radio. :)

Even for me, what you wrote was interesting! I don't listen to radio so much actually anymore, only when working in the kittchen or so. But this accurate differentiation makes sense!
But I am really curious to know what kind of six acts the radio stations chose. Even in case there are good ones among them - how will the public chose? I am more than sceptical.

It seems there will be six songs in our NF:

Chef*innen ihrer Musikprogramme

I stopped reading the article after I noticed that "word".

Thanks for telling us that there are probably going to be 6 entries in our NF.
Seriously, after seeing such "grammatical forms", I always stop to read. Is ther more "new information" in this article?

6 is an interesting number, though, it somehow matches the amount of entries taking part in the Irish national final (:D) and since our head of delegation previously mentioned that she fell in love with - at least - 9 candidates/acts, they seem to have narrowed it down a lot!

That said, I don´t understand why we aren´t going to see 10 entries in a 3 hrs programme/show, though.
