If the reactions to the song after the revamp are still harsh, then it's crystal clear that the song was never the problem to begin with. I still don't really know what problem the fans have against this song, but I think they are just scared that this entry might qualify instead of, let's say, Lithuania.

Yeah, there was a lot of hype and I still don't understand how this did not Q. Kate Ryan was a big star in Europe in those times and the song + performance were good too. But Lithuania does not risk fading in the background like arguably has happened with Belgium in 2006,I mean those dancing moves alone would make people pay attention to it and I don't see the juries lowballing the Roop either.

That happened only because there was only one semifinal back then. If there had been 2 semifinals, it would've qualified. Anyway, it's not much related to the Israeli entry of this year, which is good but trashed because it doesn't meet the fandom's requirements. But hopefully the general public will like it more.
