Regarding the fact that Sam Ryder is signed with UMG, in this MusicWeek article from 2018, when TAP Management rebranded as TAP Music, it states that:
If the joint venture is still in place, then it could explain why TAP would be able to work with an UMG artist like Sam, if indeed he is our...
You're correct, but I should have been more specific in saying that I used the 80s as an example of what the BBC is going through now. Whilst the government tried its best to destroy the BBC it didn't succeed, although the creation of BSkyB has since. Back then most of the shows that were...
Apologies for the long post...
Firstly, James/Embers didn't deserve nil points and definitely not last place.
Moving forward we need another Love City Groove/Gina G type moment. Songs that may not win but can spark a renaissance in UK Eurovision.
I think when we look at the BBC we need to...
To me the iplayer "live" performance seemed very radio 1 live lounge like, very acoustic but a bit sterile. A live performance in front of an actual audience could bring it alive.
The only thing I can think of is the song is a Warner Media Group production/distribution and the writers are mainly from BMG (although one of the publishers are Black Butter Music a Sony Music subsidiary). But I'm not sure if that makes sense as BMG have their own labels to release the song on...
Yeah but G:son is not with BMG, the only songs in the last decade that have a connection to BMG that I can find are:
Toy (Netta) - Composers: Doron Medalie & Stav Beger
Rise Like a Phoenix (Conchita Wurst) - Composers: Charlie Mason, Joey Patulka, Ali Zuckowski & Julian Maas
Only Teardrops...
Looking at the stations playlists for this week, the artists that are on both are:
Dua Lipa - Physical
Becky Hill (feat. Shift K3Y) - Better Off Without You
Lizzo - Cuz I Love You
Jona Brothers - What a Man Gotta Do
Billie Ellish - No Time to Die
Sam Smith - To Die For
It won't be anything of...
The key thing with Radio is numbers...
Greg James Breakfast show get around 5 million listeners and Ken Bruce about 8 million. Having up to 13 million listeners hearing our entry that cover two very different but key consumer demographics as well as potential viewers for the final. BBC 1 mainly...
At least it's gonna be on Radio 1 first, I think that bodes well for promotion on the BBC, whether song/performers any good, I'll reserve judgement.
Maybe Radio 1 for the premiere and Radio 2 for the interview? But it is odd.
The more I've looked into the schedule the more I think it could be 29th.
In the past (even on internal selections) they announce during week (mon-fri), and they alway announce in the week before the delegation meeting. But looking at the schedule there is not an appropriate slot for the...
Well if you look at the Schedule on the bbc website for 29th February, it does show a 30 minute slot prior to The Greatest Dancer at 6pm that currently has nothing in it apart from an "Off Air" status and a "Programmes will resume at 18:30" message:
www.bbc.co.uk/schedules/p00fzl6p/2020/02/29...
Erm Cowell's contract hasn't stopped him from working with the BBC on the The Greatest Dancer which was created and is produced by his company SyCo and is based on the Rising Star format that select Israel's entries.
However, having said that I wouldn't want Cowell anywhere near Eurovision and...
