No poll up yet, but definitely an 8 after one listen, if staging is good they could get a best result for Georgia. Not worried about lack of a melody, it has more than most this year (Sweden) and a few successful past entries like Fuego and Slo mo.
The boy band got joint second place with a generic dated, probably last again in the semis, if selected. Its refreshing that Ireland have gone for something original and avant garde. In doing so it does it makes the contest more interesting and eclectic.
I thought that MIDY would win, but instantly liked AIKO when listening to the entries first time. She’s also based in Brighton so another one to support. It’s very punchy and could do well. 10 or 12 in the poll For me.
They just played a snippet. Apparently it’s a girl group (3?) . One is called Maisie. It starts off talking/harmony then suddenly changes to pipes and a thumping beat. They will play it in full later, after her show and on the next one (Vernon) sometime. Dont know why they couldn’t play the full...
Yes I found this and the Latvian entry melodic, interesting and well performed. Doesn’t take away that they are are both decent songs and would have enhanced the quality and diversity of music styles in the final.
Looks like the right wing media , Daily Mail, Telegraph, GB News etc are rounding up on the UK entry because they’re upset with Mae because she is definitely not a Tory by all accounts.
