I'm not enamored by our entry but I'm glad it is well produced and true to Olly's style. I think we can be proud of it even if personally it doesn't do a huge amount for me. I don't see a win but I think with a good love performance, we can get another top 10
Usually I'd agree but continuing voting after juries have voted kinda puts a dampener on that. At that point, you're basically telling you audience to only vote for the top 3 or else it may as well be a wasted vote
Tattoo is good but it's not winning Eurovision good if it weren't for Loreen. That said, I think the contest has moved on and what worked in 2012 won't do as well this time round. The televote in particular has moved away from well-staged pop songs and, in my mind, into more personal entries...
It's a fine radio friendly song but unfortunately that's exactly what we thought of Embers when it was first released. Radio-friendly just doesn't work when you translate it to the stage. I thought we'd realised that.
The biggest issue here is the BBC announcement timing. They sat on this for 2...
It's not quite as good as dreamer but that was a very high bar to beat. I love the verse in the clip, I hope there's another at the start of the song that's been cut off. The instrumental is great as well, great guitar solo. If this is the entry, I'm sure it'll be a great live show and will make...
Listening to the official karaoke versions, Austria is gonna abuse the backing vocal rules a lot this year. So much for the "no main vocals on the backing track" rule xshrug
That's the point. The comments people have been posting around social media about Anders have been horrible and unwarranted just because there was a chance he might beat the fanbases new favourite. Especially annoying when it's coming from the same fans who critics juries in Spain and Australia...
I'm glad it won and I think it'll be a solid top 10 for Sweden, if not a top 5. Another year however with the fanbase being incredibly toxic towards Sweden, dread to think what would have happened if Anders had won, as much as he also deserved it.
