We let them tell us what to do
Why why why
We live to die for worthy things
Oh ya ya ya

We promised we would never lose our pride
Your word's worth nothing if you lie
We're standing tall and looking up, our Father would be proud
And I'm happy to be working my own ground

We'll be the last ones breathing here

Hey, sing your heart out boy
For all the people great and small
Oh, when all else is lost
The future still remains our own

We're taught that we were born to lose
But why why why
Don't waste your breath, it's time to choose
Oh ya ya ya

We promised we would never lose our pride
Your word's worth nothing if you lie
We're standing tall and looking up, our Father would be proud
And I'm happy to be working my own ground

I said
Hey, sing your heart out boy
For all the people great and small
Oh, when all else is lost
The future still remains our own

I hope

We let them tell us what to do
Why why why
We live to die for worthy things
Oh ya ya ya

No matter what they try, tearing up our lives
I know we will always rise

I said
Hey, sing your heart out boy
For all the people great and small
Oh, when all else is lost
The future still remains our own

I hope

The future still remains our own

I hope

This song does feel rather dated to me, I can't say I dislike it, but I think this could struggle in the semi-finals, unless we have wow staging to lift the performance.
I think it will Q swimmingly though.

Yeah I’m starting to have “hope” this could do really well. Just ditch the gun showdown. It was bad at the national final and is even worse now with what’s going on in the world.
I agree. The showdown on stage didn't get me very excited. It was the only part that penalized the song and risked making "Hope" a joke entry in the public eye.

Do you know what I would do? If I were Stefan I'd dress like Sergio Leone's The Nameless Man with a cowboy hat and sarape. Then I would opt for a minimal scenography with some minimal West elements and mostly exploiting the expressive power of the "Sun Within" stage and the yellow-orange tones to give a sense of dryness. Finally, the guitar in hand and the warm vocals would top it all off.

By doing so, you winked at all the lovers of the West, the lovers of Sergio Leone and you created an epic atmosphere that other songs in the competition would hardly be able to overcome. "Hope" has a lot of potential. Don't waste it!

I think Estonia can to pretty good this year. I can see this getting good scores from many countries, I guess especially from Scandinavia and the neighbouring countries. More than usual, I mean...

This is great. A someone who likes western-style music, this is right up my street.
I think Estonia could get a better result with this than most people think.

I think its the kind of entry that qualifies easily and ends up 13-20 in the final ( Freddie - Pioneer, Victor Crone - Storm etc )
That's always possible, but I do have a sneaky suspicion with this one. I think it's got broader appeal.

Agreed. + it distracts viewers from the catchiest and most important buildup moment of the entire song, the "I hope I hope" part.

I finally got to listen to this properly and I have to say I'm enjoying it a lot! He has a fantastic voice and I truly believe he'll qualify and end up left side of the scoreboard.

HOWEVER.

Somebody tell him to OPEN his mouth a little more when he sings and ENUNCIATE. At first I was sure he was singing in Estonian.

"Hope" will certainly qualify (as long as Stefan takes care of the staging). I can also hypothesize a Top 10 or better still the victory of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 (this again if Stefan manages to create an epic staging).
