Welcome back to our overview here at ESCUnited, ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland! Today, let’s see what Day 2 of first rehearsals brought us, shall we?

🇳🇴 NORWAY:

Kyle Alessandro is giving it his all! The stage comes alive with the lasers and lighting, just as the song requires. The costume does not appear to be different than the MGP version, however according to these photos for now, we can tell that instead of four, we are now seeing three dancers with Kyle. And as for the pyro lovers? Check out the flames in one of the photos!

🇧🇪 BELGIUM:

Red Sebastian did not joke about the color – all red, everything! We can note a few changes from the national final right off the bat; there doesn’t seem to be any moving platforms this time around, and there are three dancers complimenting him now. What strikes us here, however, is the intensity of the lights and the explosion of color, which seems to be the right move for Strobe Lights as its title, right? Bring on the party, Belgium!

🇦🇿 AZERBAIJAN:

Mamagama did not come to play, despite their joyful aesthetic. They brought the party, the fun, funky vibes, with a sprinkle of the tradition we oh-so-love at Eurovision. Black leather suits look incredible on them, they look at home on stage, and we cannot wait to see what the final product will look like!

🇸🇲 SAN MARINO:

Tutta L’Italia, everyone! Gabry Ponte is here to light the arena on fire, as it seems, at least judging by the photos so far. The silvery, reflective costume appears fitting for the fun anthem we’ll be hearing him perform, and the accompanying graphics suggest a full on club atmosphere. Bring it on!

🇦🇱 ALBANIA:

We can always count on Albania to bring at least a tad bit of tradition to Eurovision, and Shkodra Elektronike are no exception. This time, though, the visuals are serving absolute fire. Beatriçe is wearing a crimson gown with a glittering bodice and flowing, layered fabric (her Mom made it!). She wears a single red glove on her right hand, leaving the left bare. The entire look exudes pure glamour, and Kolë matches her effortlessly in a sharp, double-breasted military style jacket. They seem to be going all out, adding fuel to the fire (quite literally), as the entire thing look grandeous!

🇳🇱 NETHERLANDS:

Claude is singing to us about life in French. This wonderful track appears to be complimented by his well tailored costume – a lovely suit with a pearl to accessorize. His on stage presence is further layered by the strings surrounding him, adding to the intimacy.

🇭🇷 CROATIA:

Now this is a full on change from national final! Marko seems to have completely ditched his Dora staging. While effective, this seems on a whole new level. The dancers are there to aid the incredibly inviting backdrop, and Marko is wearing a massive cape with fur with suggestive green (poisonous?) props and background setting amount to a performance that’s about to remain on theme regardless. We’re excited to see this version of Poison Cake!

🇨🇾 CYPRUS:

To close off the rehearsal day, Theo Evan brought us quite a prop and a visual segment all you Eurovision fans yearn for. Scaffolding towers, dancers, and a simple, but effective costume round up a clever visual. Is anyone reminded of Vitruvian Man, by Leonardo Da Vinci? There’s definitely symbolism there, possibly about humankind and the human body? Clever, Theo!
