That’s right, our “Expert” Panel is back for another year, as 15 members of the ESC United team have sat down to review the hopefuls that were set to represent their nations at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam!

As a quick reminder, the rules of our “Expert” Panel are simple; our team provide a score for each entry between 1 and 10, with .5 scores also possible – 1 being terrible and 10 being a perfect score and an amazing entry. Each entry will also have a video, where Matt will discuss the entry with three members of the panel and provide their rationales for their points for the song.

Let’s move on to the fourth country in our panel’s running order…

The next country we are focusing on is Latvia, with Samanta Tīna finally earning the right to represent her country in Rotterdam with “Still Breathing”, an uptempo banger of a track that certainly generated strong opinions in the fanbase – but what did our team make of it?

In this video, Matt discusses the Latvia entry with Sebastian, Sean and James. #YOU can find out how they felt in the video below;

With four of our team passing judgement above, it’s now time to see how the scores fell for Latvia across our panel;

  • Boris 7
  • Connor 9
  • David 2
  • Fernando 8
  • Gabe 8
  • Holly 3
  • James 3
  • Matt 7.5
  • Melanie 6.5
  • Robert 1
  • Roy 7
  • Sanio 5.5
  • Sean 9
  • Sebastian 1
  • Stefan 8

We also asked our forum readers and members to share their votes on the song, with the Forum score being attributed as 7.23 for Latvia.

Overall, this means that Latvia’s “Still Breathing” earns an average of score of 5.80 – not enough to move above the existing three entries, but certainly a strong showing with some of our juries!

  1. 🇦🇱Albania – 6.42
  2. 🇬🇷 Greece – 6.40
  3. 🇸🇮 Slovenia – 6.01
  4. 🇱🇻 Latvia – 5.80

Will Albania hold on at the top? Stay tuned as next up it’s Malta’s “All of My Love” to face our panel – so make sure to subscribe and add notifications for our YouTube channel to not miss a thing!
