The Italian broadcaster RAI announced earlier today that Emma will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Traditionally the broadcaster waited until the San Remo festival to reveal the representative but this year didn’t waste any time and shared the news with the world.
Emma is considered one of the biggest selling female artists in her home country having her breakthrough in 2010 on the talent show Amici which she ended up winning. After that her career took off and the 29 year old singer is also quite popular in Switzerland.
She’ll be performing “La Mia Città” which you can listen to below. The song will undergo some changes to comply with the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest.
