The 2015 Spanish representative in the Eurovision Song Contest, and girlfriend of Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, Edurne, has been in local press in the United Kingdom after comments stating her dislike for the city of Manchester.
In an interview on Spanish television, Edurne is said to have branded Manchester as “uglier than the back of a fridge” and went on to say ““It’s not very nice, that’s for sure. You have to hunt out specific places, the nicer places”. Although Edurne has denied making these comments:
In reaction to these comments, Pat Karney, from Manchester council has offered a personal tour of Manchester to the Spanish representative, which Edurne has stated she would be delighted to see more wonderful corners of Manchester.
Edurne has stated the she hopes her boyfriend can make the Eurovision Song Contest final, to be held on the 23rd of May in Vienna, although he does have a football match on the 24th of May in Hull, so this seems highly unlikely.

Well the headline worked. It caught someone’s attention! But read the article. It specifically says she denies it and would accept a tour if the city that is being offered to her.
