Conchita Wurst is busy performing in multiple National Finals this year and now she has added Italy to her itinerary.
The winner of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest is travelling all across the continent to attend National Finals and decided to add an extra stop and perform in the San Remo Festival which is held in Italy. The Sanremo festival was first held in 1951 and used as an inspiration when the Eurovision Song Contest was created five years later. The Italian broadcaster Rai confirmed that the “Queen of Austria” will be a special guest at the festival which takes place from February 10th to the 14th.
The event is also used as the selection method to decide who will be flying the flag for Italy at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna this May. The winner of the Sanremo festival will be given the offer to take part in the most popular musical contest in the world in May.
Sixteen acts (out of originally 20) will perform on the Grand Final night on Feb 14th where a winner will be chosen. Every act gets to perform one song only; in previous years they had to perform two songs. Check out the artists HERE
