Another Beovizija entrant spoke with us. Bojana Mašković has been in the music industry for some time, but now it is time for a big breakthrough and never the less at Beovizija. She has been working as a music teacher, so there is no doubt that all of her students will support her on February 29th as Bojana will perform 4th at the second semifinal of Serbian national selection.
Bojana’s song is written by Goran Kovačić, man behind some of the most beautiful ballads sang by the biggest stars in the region. Bojana’s backing vocals include former Serbian representative Mladen Lukić and Jelena Đurić, who performed as a backing vocal on multiple occasions and also her entry was produced by Dušan Alagić, who is also not a stranger to the Eurovision scene.
Hello Bojana. Thank you so much for finding some free time in your busy schedule to chat with us. Can you tell our readers what did motivate you to apply for Beovizija?
I think it is probably the best way represent yourself to wider audience, especially at the begging of your career.
What can you tell us about your song? Is there a story behind it?
My song is an ode to music. Music is following me my whole life and it is one of my biggest loves. So the song is basically about that… Actually, I was always coming back to her and leaving part of myself. So because of that, I dedicated the lyrics to my first love, to music.
Can you tell us anything about your performance? Are you preparing something special for Beovizija?
All I can say now is that it is going to be really special.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Loyal, dedicated, artistic.
Would you be so kind to tell us something interesting about yourselves? Something that people usually don’t know?
It’s interesting that when I was a kid, I was left-handed. I’m not anymore. 🙂
Have you been watching Eurovision in previous years? Did you like any song in particular?
Yes I have, as much as I was available. But the song I love to hear even today is Euphoria.
What would it mean to you to go to Eurovision?
It would mean that I have fulfilled my childhood dream, what is for most people in my opinion the most important thing. You are the happiest when you, as an adult person, manage to save and unlock the inner child, then you can say that you are complete and free.
We wish you the best of luck at Beovizija and who knows, maybe we will see you in May in Rotterdam!
