Blue, the United Kingdom’s representatives in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, have been dropped by Sony after poor sales for their latest album Colours.
The band confirmed they will carry on despite being dropped stating “we still love doing what we do” and confirming plans to tour Asia and Europe.
The post also alludes to journalists “preaching negativity and vitriol”, perhaps partially in reference to the widespread derision they experienced from music moguls after being announced as the UK’s Eurovision act four years ago.
The boyband, who have sold millions of albums and toured the world since finding success in 2001, represented their country in 2011. Despite being one of the favourites to win and finishing 5th in the televote, Blue’s song “I Can” reached a mid-table result of 11th.
