We’re almost approaching the finish line now, when it comes to Junior Eurovision Song Contest, as last weekend saw another representative being selected. This time, Malta held their selection, which was done through “The Voice Kids – Malta” and now we’re another step closer to the contest.
The Voice Kids(Malta) – Season 2
For the first time, The Voice Kids would serve as the selection method of the artist that would select the artist, something that the Portuguese have also made use of and still do, but this was a first for Malta, when it came to Junior Eurovision.
The second season of the show started airing as recently as late September, and lasted for just about 3 weeks, until a winner was crowned. Following the show format, a lot of children took part in the contest, which consist of blind auditions, battles and sing-off rounds. Jumping straight ahead towards the final, only 6 young artists were left in the competition, with only 2 acts belonging to each of the 3 coaches. Below a quick sum-up of the final and who the coaches were for all the finalists:
Finalists coached by Gianluca Bezzina:
- Rachele Maria Nistica
- Oliver Zammit Attard
Finalists coached by Destiny Chukunyere:
- Eliza Borg
- Marie Emeh Camilleri
Finalists coached by Sarah Bonnici:
- Mia Lanzon
- Carly Cachia Arpa
It should also be noted, that the 3 coaches, are all former Maltese representative as well.
With each coach having two acts in the final, only 1 act from each couch could advance to the super-final(all marked in bold above), where all the last standing acts would make a final performance, before a winner was then ultimately decided.
Here, it was then decided that Eliza Borg was selected as the winner, who was coached by the 2021 Maltese Eurovision representativa and 2015 Junior Eurovision Winner, Destiny Chukunyere.
What awaits next, is that a decision on what song Eliza Borg will perform, will be decided, which will take place on the 13th of December 2025, in Tbilisi, Georgia. When the song is expected to be ready and released is still unknown, but will as always is the case, be released prior to the competition.
Noteworthy is, that each superfinalists of the show, did perform an own original song, other than the duet with their coach, but further details about the 3 original songs performed, are still unknown, such a titles and songwriters, as of the moment of this publication.
