A long selection progress has once more come to an end. In Ukraine, a decision has now been made and the honor of representing the country on the children’s stage has been given to Sofiia Nersesian. Let’s take a quick look into how she was selected.

Natsvidbir na Dytiache Yevrobachennia – 2025

Unlike many other countries, Ukraine is one of the few, who are willing to have a national final for their selection, even when it comes to Junior Eurovision. To begin with, an period of interest was opened for young singers, who had an interest in representing the country in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Svitlana Tarabarova, who was appointed as the music producer once again, was in charge of reviewing and deciding who would make the longlist, all of this being the first phase. In the second phase, the young singers who were longlisted, were then judges by a professional jury, who together would decide step by step, who would qualify for the national final. Then finally, in the third phase, the selected acts would be assigned songs, by the music producers Svitlana Tarabarova and Alyona Alyona that they would perform in the national final.

In the end, this was the line-up for the national final: (Order of performance)

  1. Likeriia Chyrva – “Ne taka yak vsi
  2. Olha Nesterko – “Zozulia
  3. Sofiia Nersesian – “Motanka
  4. Zlata Ivaniv and Vladyslav Vasytskyi – “Zorianyi chas
  5. Vsevolod Skryma – “Young Heart
  6. Anhelina Hlohus – “Moie sertse

Thanks to both the jury and the televote, Sofiia Nersesian could claim victory, after she finished on top with viewers and second with the juries, hence scoring the highest amount of points, and the honor of representing Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her song “Motanka“. Her performance and song can be seen and heard right below:
