Having made their return for the 2024 contest, Cyprus is still willing and set to give it another shot, and it has finally been revealed, who has been given the honor of representing the small Mediterranean country.

A few days ago, the Cypriot national broadcaster could finally announce who would have the honor of representing the island nation at the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is set to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The honor has fallen upon Rafaella Panteli & Christos Georgiou, who will become the 11th act to represent the country. The duo was selected to sing the “Away“. The song has not been revealed yet, but it is known that the song will be written by Christopher Wortley, Hannah Brine, Peter Barringer, Greig Watts, Paul Drew and Andy Lys.

Rafaella Panteli was born back in 2011, and has been singing since she was only 3 years old. Now with about a decade of experience, she is ready to shine on the big European stage, and she has all her past experience to thank for this moment, having had multiple lead roles in musical theater, as well as her some experience from finishing high as well at dancing competitions.

Christos Georgiou who is currently 12 years of age, has a great passion for music and performance. Other than a special connection to music, who has also a great interest for dancing and sports, which combined has taught him well about energy and rhythm. He has also participated at various talent shows and cultural events.

At the moment, it is currently unknown when the song will be released, but is expected to become public in the coming weeks, ahead of the contest.

2024 saw the return of Cyprus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, after having been absent between 2017 and 2023. Last year, saw the honor of representing Cyprus being given to Maria Pissarides, who then performed the song “Crystal Waters” for the audience in Madrid, Spain. She managed to finish in 13th place, with a total of 60 points.
