There’s still about two and a half month until the biggest singing competition for kids takes place, but now it’s finally settled. Viewers across Europe will have the joy of watching young talents from 18 nations compete for the title of winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

18 countries – 1 more than 2024

It can’t be said that it comes as a huge surprise, since it was already announced ahead of time, that both 🇪🇪 Estonia and 🇩🇪 Germany had announced their withdrawal. Meanwhile, not only did 🇦🇿 Azerbaijan, 🇭🇷 Croatia and 🇲🇪 Montenegro all announce their comeback already, but they have even announced their representative as well by now.

With 2 withdrawing and 3 countries returning, it means we will have 18 countries in total taking part, which is the second highest number this decade, only falling short by one, when France hosted the 2021 contest in Paris, with 19 participants. Only 3 times in the past, since the contest’s inception, did the contest have more than 18 participants, so it can definitely been seen as a great success, that so many countries are still willing to take part, after almost 25 years now.

These are the 18 countries, that will compete for the glass trophy in Tbilisi:
