Azerbaijan in JESC 2025

A while ago, Azerbaijani broadcaster (İctimai Television) could reveal, that they had decided to pick young artist Yağmur as the country’s representative, for the contest to be held later this year.

Much else has not been revealed as of yet, so we’ll still need to wait a while longer, before we know the song she will sing and the names behind the song. Azerbaijan’s participation at the upcoming contest will be it’s 5th time taking part, having done so back in 2012, 2013, 2018 & 2021.

Yağmur is currently 12 years old, and was selected after an internal selection that consisted of a two-stage process, here she finished on top among 60 total applicants. Her love for music, is what has brought her to this point, and she even attends a arts school. Among her inspiration, we have artists such as Michael Jackson and Billie Eilish, as well as local artists such as Aygun Kazimova and Aybeniz Hashimova.

She even had the following to share, regarding her selection as the nation’s representative:

  • I am very happy to represent Azerbaijan in Tbilisi. This will be an incredible experience for me.

Pointed out from before, Azerbaijan last took part in the competition during the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Back then, they were represented by Sona Azizova and her song “One Of Those Days“. This became Azerbaijan’s best performance at the contest, when she finished at 5th place after the jury vote and online vote were combined, gathering a total of 151 points.
