The first heat of Melodifestivalen live from Coop Noorbotten Arena in Luleå has come to a close, with two acts qualifying directly to the grand final on March 8.

The show once again featured only six songs competing for two coveted spots in the final. But in a change from last year, only the song that comes in 3rd place would qualify for the “final qualifier” heat. Last year the 3rd and 4th placing entries were both qualified.

Tonight’s line-up consisted of:

  • Albin Johnsén feat. Pa – “Upp i luften”
  • Maja Ivarsson – “Kamikaze Life”
  • John Lundvik – “Voice of the Silent”
  • Meira Omar – “Hush Hush”
  • Adrian Macéus – “Vår första gång”
  • Linnea Henriksson – “Den känslan”

Tonight’s results were determined by a 100% televote through the app, which resulted in John Lundvik and Maja Ivarsson qualifying directly to the Melfest final. Meira Omar still has another shot at making it to the final as they move on to the final qualifier round on March 1st.

The next heat of Melodifestivalen takes place on February 7th from the Scandinavium in Göteborg.
