It’s the first Super Saturday of the Eurovision pre-season, and Latvia’s national final, Supernova, has just concluded its semi-final. Fifteen acts competed to qualify, and only ten acts could move on to the final next Saturday, 10 February. The running order was as follows:

The qualifiers were determined by a 50/50 combination of a jury vote and a televote. The semi-final was hosted wonderfully by veterans Ketija Šēnberga and Lauris Reiniks, and just looking at the performances, great staging.
At the end of the show and with the voting lines closed, the qualifiers were announced. In order of being announced, the qualifiers were Funkinbiz, Alekss Silvers, Vēstulēs, Papīra Lidmašīnas, Avéi, Saint Levića, Dons, Ecto, Katrīna Gupalo, and finally, Edvards Strazdiņš. That means we must unfortunately say goodbye to Agnese Rakovska, Patrīcija Spale, B/H, Jar of Kings, and Sasha Sil.
Next week on Saturday, 10 February, we’ll find out which of the ten finalists will represent Latvia this year in Malmö. We can’t wait to see who it will be!
