It’s time for another interview ahead of Eurovizija.LT semi-final two – this time with the pop rock band Multiks!

Multiks is no stranger to the Lithuanian national final, though they have competed in three different iterations of the selection from 2012-2013, 2023, and now again in 2024. Their best result in the selection came in their first year, where they qualified through to the final with the song Star but ended in last place. They have recently released their second studio album Kitas Krantas and have spent a majority of 2023 touring around Lithuania.

Thank you so much for making some time out of your busy schedule to talk with us today! Why don’t we start our time together by having you tell us a bit about who Multiks is?

Multiks started playing in 2010. At the beginning we used to play synth-pop music, but always used live instruments in concerts. As a result, now even in recordings, we play only live. We crave that human feeling in the music that computers sometimes take away. We have released two albums and are working on the third. We have a lot of ideas and plans.

It looks like you had an extremely busy 2023, performing concerts all over and promoting your second studio album Kitas Krantas. What would you say has been the biggest highlight for your year since we last saw you in the Lithuanian pre-selection?

Last year was great, with many concerts and enjoyable moments. The highlight was the concert at Tamsta club because it was full of fans and friends, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Even now, remembering it gives us goosebumps.

On the topic of concerts I’d love to ask you a fun question – if you had the opportunity to perform a one-night only concert anywhere in the world, where would the band choose to perform and why?

This would be London, Wembley Stadium. Because all the greatest music gods have played there!

A great pick! Having been together as a band for so long I’m sure you know a lot about one another now. What would be some fun and interesting things that our readers might not know about the band’s members outside of music?

Rytis is crazy about crosswords, Lina professional classic pianist, Dominykas – chemistry scientist and Paulius is a serious fisherman and loves windsurfing.

To those who maybe have never heard your music before, how would you describe it to them? Are there any tracks of yours that you’d say perfectly explain the “Multiks sound”?

The latest Eurovision entry song very well reflects our sound. Also, the song London from last year.

Now this will be your fourth time participating in the pre-selection, meaning you have a lot of previous experience to pull on when preparing for something like this. Are you treating your participation any differently this year or going in with the same approach as you’d take with a concert?

Every year we come with a different song and a different emotion. But since we are a live sound band, there will be movements and energy of a rock band 🙂 But we will not perform any splits or flips  🙂

I’m interested to learn more about the songwriting process for your entry “Vėjas Galvoje”. Was it a song that was written specifically with the contest in mind, or was it a matter of “right song, right time?”

It was our latest recorded song that also suited this contest. We don’t specifically write songs for some occasions. If we have a new song that fits for the contest, we submit and participate.

As we look toward your live performance in semi-final two, what can our readers expect to see on the Eurovizija.LT stage? Any cryptic teasers, hints, or spoilers you’d like to let loose?

Let’s keep it a secret.

For those who want to connect with you all ahead of or after the selection– where can they find you and your music?

Both of our albums are on Spotify. And you can also follow our Youtube channel for our latest songs and music videos.

Before we wrap up do you have a final message you’d like to share with those reading this interview?

Oh yes. First of all, thanks to everyone who listen to our music, comes to our concerts, and supports us. And for those who haven’t heard yet – we invite you to get acquainted with our music. Sending love and smiles to everyone.

Thanks so much Multiks and we wish you the best of luck in the Lithuanian National selection!

If #YOU want to support Multiks’ pathway to Eurovision 2024 make sure you tune in to their semi-final on Saturday January 20th and vote!
