Ríkisútvarpið (RÚV) announced the songs for Söngvakeppnin today. The competition will compose of two semi-finals on 8 February and 15 February of five songs each, and all songs in the semi-finals will be performed in the Icelandic language. Songs that qualify to the final on 22 February will perform using their preferred language for Eurovision. The shows will be hosted by Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir, Benedikt Valsson, Fannar Sveinsson.

The top three songs as determined by televote from each semi-final will qualify for the final, making a six-song final. The final will consist of only one voting round, which consists of a 50/50 jury and televote to determine the winner. In years past, the winner was determined after a superfinal, but that has been removed this year.

RÚV released the entries to this year’s Söngvakeppnin on YouTube. Ten entrants are competing to represent Iceland, with some familiar faces in Söngvakeppnin’s past. With the announcement of the songs, the semi-final participants have also been decided. You can listen to the songs on RÚV’s official YouTube channel.
