RTVE has released a revamped version of Melody’s Eurovision 2025 song “ESA DIVA,” as well as the song’s official music video.

The revamp follows some criticism of the original version, which some fans and reviewers had called “dated.” A collaboration between U.K. producers Rick Parkhouse and George Tizzard, and Spanish producer Guillem Vila Borras, the new version features some significant changes to the production – which is notably more drum-and-bass heavy than the original – while keeping key elements such as the guitars that give the song a distinctly Spanish flavor.

Echoing the theme of classic-to-contemporary evolution, the music video transitions between scenes of Melody arriving at an event in a car before making her way through a crowd of photographers, and of her performing the song, flanked by dancers.

Director Mario Ruiz, whose credentials include past work for both Junior Eurovision and Benidorm Fest, aimed to highlight classic and modern interpretations of the term “diva,” evoking both old Hollywood glamour and the pop culture landscape of today. “We wanted to create a concept of transition from a classic diva to a contemporary diva, without forgetting that anyone can be ‘that diva’ in their life because that condition is within each one of us.”

To debut the Eurovision-ready version of “ESA DIVA,” RTVE held an event called “The DIVA Xperience” – the first event of its kind for the Spanish broadcaster. At the event, TVE director Sergio Calderón revealed that a documentary about Melody is in the works, while Spain’s Head of Delegation Ana María Bordas suggested the live performance might be in for a revamp as well.
