After hosting a live national final last year, with an audience, the dream just couldn’t continue. However, Czechia are still with us in the competition, and now we shall all hear whether their return to an internal selection will be worth it or not.
Internal Selection
As pointed out before, with great disappointment, the Czech broadcaster (ČT) decided to scratch the national final concept, which had been in use to select their representative every year since 2018.
Despite everything, the Czech team instead to focus their funds more into the overall package that would become ADONXS‘s entry. Having been announced as the Czech representative back in December, the Czech team has been able to prepare and focus on an incredible and powerful journey, which should showcase the best of what ADONXS can do on the 2025 stage.
Czechia will enter the Eurovision stage in the second half of the second semi-final, which takes place on the 15th of May 2025.
More about the music video
The video serves as a metaphor for human failure, emotional pain, and the struggle with one’s own imperfections. According to ADONXS, he describes the music video as follow:
- “It’s the story of a flawed, wounded hero who, at a crucial moment, is willing to sacrifice a great leap for humanity in the hope of healing a painful wound in his heart. It’s about how love drives and shapes us—but so does its absence”.
- “We wanted to bring an unexpected aesthetic, but above all, to present a strong story with unexpected twists and reveal something real and honest from my own heart – something fragile, which is real, but still hurts a little.”
The song itself explores romantic relationships and recurring behavioral patterns, where ADONXS’ longing for unconditional love clashes with the lasting impact of an absent father in early childhood.
Head of Media Michal Utíkal also goes on and says:
- “There is a deeper story behind the song “Kiss Kiss Goodbye” than it might seem at first listen. ADONXS had promising success when the acoustic version was released, and it is currently somewhere between 7th and 9th place in the bookmakers’ favorites to win, and every next step shakes the charts again. It is a work that sends chills down your spine in every way. And I also believe that many fans will identify with ADONXS‘ message. Although it is deeply personal, it can resonate with many of us. I am really looking forward to ADONXS being able to perform on the big stage in Basel, where everything will come together with a staging by Matyáš Vorda. Only there will the energy and charisma that ADONXS sends out into the world be fully amplified“.
