Cyprus has officially announced its entry for the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and it’s a sun-soaked, feel-good anthem that promises to capture the essence of summer. The song, titled “Crystal Waters,” was released yesterday alongside an enchanting music video, starring the young and talented Maria Pissarides.
At the heart of the song is the idea of “crystal waters”—a metaphor for the purity of feelings and experiences we often associate with the summer months. The song cleverly weaves this imagery into its narrative, portraying a carefree season filled with fun, exploration, and heartwarming connections.
The song is composed and written by Sophia Patsalides, who represented Cyprus in JESC ten years ago, in collaboration with Swedish producer and composer Armin Gilani. The stage performance will be directed by the renowned British artistic director Layla Ellison.
The 22nd edition of Junior Eurovision will take place in Madrid, Spain, on November 16, 2024!
