It has been quite quiet from the Swiss broadcaster regarding their participation this year, but for obvious reason as well. While being busy organising the upcoming contest, Swiss broadcaster (SRG SSR) also had to eventually reveal their song and artist for the home crowd. We might need to wait a bit longer for the song, but at least we have the artist now!
Switzerland in ESC 2025
It’s actually been a while since we got any info from the Swiss, so as a reminder, we have to go all the way back to August of 2024, since we last heard something properly about the song selection.
Back then it was revealed that a total of 431 submissions had been sent in to the broadcaster for consideration and now a few months later, we do have a name and face of the artist that has been given the honor of making the home crowd proud.
Earlier today, it was announced that Zoë Më had been selected as the Swiss representative. The decision was made long time ago, but only now revealed. Most likely, the team behind the Swiss entry have been hard at work to prepare the surprise for today, and it won’t be long before we get to see the music video for the selected song as well.
Sometime last week, it was confirmed that the song by the Swiss representative would be revealed on the 10th of March.
About Zoë Më
The young singer is only 24 years old, but has already mastered her own unique ability to switch between the languages of German and French. She was even born in Basel, so the home crowd advantage could be on her side.
Having lived in Germany, she moved with her family to the Swiss canton of Fribourg, which is located very close to the de facto capital city of Bern. This is when she started learning French, despite being born in the German region of the country.
Her style of music is called “Poetic-pop“, and also perform ballads. In 2024, she was named the “SRF 3 Best talent“, an award that her fellow past Swiss Eurovision-representative Nemo and Marius Bear have also achieved.
Soon, we will learn much more about this young singer, as we follow her journey to Basel.
