Armenia have chosen Leo as their entrant for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest!
Leo was chosen through AMPTV’s internal selection out of over 100 applicants, after a two-round audition process. The selection was made by a focus group of Armenian and international music industry professionals.
The 10-year-old has been entertaining since he could talk, and comes from a family of singers. He cites Michael Jackson, Teddy Swims, Frank Sinatra and Justin Timberlake as his favourite artists.
Speaking with junioreurovision.tv, Leo said, “I love my country and the world of music. Representing Armenia on an international stage through music is both joyful and incredibly responsible. I was taught to always believe in myself and I am sure that each and every human has a great power to reach for their dreams!“
Leo’s song for Junior Eurovision 2024 is yet to be released, but will be available in the coming weeks.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be held on November 16th in Madrid, Spain after the nation’s second-place finish last year, and after France exercised their first refusal rights as winners of the 2023 contest.
Yan Girls represented Armenia in 2023 with “Do It My Way”, finishing in 3rd place. This result marked the 10th time the nation achieved a podium placing at Junior Eurovision in just 17 attempts. They were victorious in 2010 with Vladimir Arzumanyan’s “Mama“, and again in 2021 with Maléna’s “Qami Qami“.
