It has been announced today by John Bundy (head of PBS) that the song that will win the Maltese national final on the 18th of February will be the song that represents Malta in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in May!

The 2016 winner of MESC, “Chameleon”, performed by Ira Losco was changed to a song that would be ‘better suited to Eurovision’, and Ira performed “Walk On Water” in Stockholm and went on to end in 12th position in the Eurovision final.

It has now been announced that whichever song wins the Maltese national final in February will not be changed and therefore will represent Malta in Kiev in May! Mr Bundy also announced today that the voting system will be 100% televote (as previously announced) but he went on to say that only one vote per phone number would be allowed.

The 2017 Malta Eurovision Song Contest will be held on the 18th of February.
