On Sunday we reported on a rumour doing the rounds online regarding the British national final for Eurovision 2018, with a supposed list of six acts chosen for the selection. Now, it seems that the potential list has shifted and, as is the nature with rumours, some names have changed!

The latest rumour for the United Kingdom comes from a now-deleted article regarding the singer-songwriter Samir Elshay, from the small town of Thame in Oxfordshire. The article reported that the performer would be in the six-song selection with his entry Crazy and would therefore be performed at Eurovision: You Decide.

Another artist appears to have moved to rule themselves out of the running, after a fan enquired about the rumours on Twitter. Anna Pancaldi was in the original ‘leak’ from the Digital Spy forums but has since tweeted about the competition after the rumour was brought to her attention;

As British fans will know, there have been many weird and wonderful rumours over the years regarding the United Kingdom’s entry, but the BBC have become adept at keeping information under wraps. It’s safe to say that we will have to wait until February before we know who will fight for the British ticket to Lisbon!
