This Saturday, the third show from the Melodifestivalen will be aired from Vaxjo. 7 artists will compete in this heat and one of the artist is Anton Hagman whom will present his entry Kiss me Goodbye

Hello Anton

First of all thank you for your time talking to us. How are you? Can you introduce yourself? What can you tell us about yourself?

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk to you. I am great and very excited of course. I am 18 years old, born in Västerås, a medium size city in Sweden not far from Stockholm. Music has always been a part of me. As long as I can remember, I have been singing and listening to music.

Your song that you will be presenting for the melodifestivalen is “Kiss you goodbye”. What can you tell us about the song?

It’s a happy mid-tempo song about moving forward and leaving the fear behind. Fear of the unknown. It’s about taking the next step after a relationship or another kind of situation.

What was the inspiration for the song, and did you write it specifically for Melodifestivalen and Eurovision?

Even if I write my own material and I am working on my debut album, this song is not written by me. It is written by Christian Fast, Tim Schou and Henrik Nordenback but I have made a few changes so the song is more me.

Sweden always managed to get good results in these last few years. What are you planning to do in order to win Melodifestivalen and eventually try to bring back the Eurovision Song Contest back to Sweden?

I have not thought of the results so much, there is so many great artists competing. My goal is just to do my best and have fun!

What is your impression of the Eurovision Song Contest in general? Do you watch it every year? What is your favourite entry?

Yes I do watch it every year! I think it’s a great festival that stands for happiness and good times! I loved The Ark’s “The worrying kind” and “Euphoria” by Loreen of course.

Apart from the Eurovision Song Contest, where would you dream to do a performance?

A filled up Wembley Stadium is one of my biggest goals! I also a dream of performing at the Bråvalla festival in Sweden.

Has being on tv made you more self-conscious?

I have not really thought of that but I don’t think it matters, I am just being myself.

What advise you would give to your teenage self?

Never stop following your dreams. Whatever it is, if you put all your energy ant time into it, you WILL be good at it.

Whats the one thing that might surprise people about you?

I am a huge fan of Freddy Mercury and Queen and I love the litchie fruit.

What is a typical day like for you?

If I can choose I really like to sleep late. I hate early mornings. I have a simple breakfast then I will warm up my voice and do vocal exercises. Then I will try to look into my social media and try to interact with my followers as much as I can. Later I will write some songs or lyrics to some new music that I have been playing in my head. Few times a week I go to the gym and work out. After dinner I try to relax for a while and maybe look at some series, I love “How I met your mother”. I end my day with some vocal exercises and some more songwriting.

Anton thanks for your time. We wish you the best of luck for your upcoming Melodifestivalen. Maybe we see you in March in Stockholm and in May in Kiev!

Thank you for taking interest in me and I really hope to see you soon!
