20 second snippets of this year’s competing entries in Malta’s national selection, Malta Eurovision Song Contest, have been released this evening by the broadcaster PBS.

The small samples of each participating song in the returning national final can be found on the “Eurovision Song Malta” Facebook page HERE. The page has also revealed the slogan for the competition, “What a Feeling”.

It is not currently known when the full songs will be released, nor when the semi-final or final of Malta Eurovision Song Contest will be held, but the shows are expected to take place in February. 22 songs are competing in this year’s competition, which signifies a return to the traditional national selection for the first time since 2018, with The X Factor used in 2019 and 2020, and 2020 winner Destiny internally selected once again for 2021.

Malta come into the 2022 contest off the back of a 7th place finish in Rotterdam by the aforementioned Destiny. “Je me casse” was a big favourite to score a first Maltese victory in the contest, but still brought the best result for the Mediterranean island since Chiara’s second place in Kyiv in 2005.
