RTV Slovenija has confirmed Slovenia’s registration to participate in the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, according to Eurovoix.

While no public announcement has been made confirming Slovenia’s participation, RTV’s decision to register ahead of the September 15th deadline indicates that participation is likely. The deadline for broadcasters to withdraw eligibility is October 11th. The only broadcaster thus far granted an extension has been AVROTROS, in light of the Netherlands’ disqualification from the 2024 contest.

Earlier in the year, it was reported that RTV Slovenija was considering the return of EMA as its selection format, after opting to internally select entries in 2023 and 2024.

Slovenia has participated in Eurovision as an independent nation since 1993. The country’s most successful entries have been “Prisluhni mi” by Darja Švajger (1995) and “Energy” by Nuša Derenda (2001), both of which placed seventh. Slovenia’s 2024 entry, “Veronika” by Raiven placed 23rd in the contest with a total of 27 points.
