It’s an exciting day to be a “Dead Poets Society” fan and a Eurovision fan.

RTV Slovenija revealed today that the title of ESC representatives Joker Out’s song will be “Carpe Diem.”

Don’t be fooled by the Latin title. The band has previously confirmed that the lyrics of “Carpe Diem” will be in Slovenian, and Joker Out intends to remain true to their distinct musical style and sound.

“With our interpretation and performance, we want to translate Slovenian into a universal language of dance and entertainment that all countries understand,” band member Jan Peteh told RTV in Slovenian. Fellow band member Kris Guštin said that Joker Out would like to show Europeans what “shagadelic rock’n’roll” is all about.

We’re just a week away from the reveal of Joker Out’s song, which will premiere on Feb. 4 during a TV special, Misija Liverpool. The show will share a behind-the-scenes look at how Joker Out recorded their song and video. Several Eurovision alumni from Slovenia will also perform: Amaya (2011), LPS (2021), Nuša Derenda (2001) and Tomaž Mihelič (2002). There’s also one more familiar face joining this star-studded lineup: Konstrakta, who took home a top five spot for Serbia in 2022, will perform at Misija Liverpool too!

Check for more updates from us next Saturday as we await the release of “Carpe Diem.”
