This is the third year in row that Slovenia has used their well known format EMA and less than a month ago ManuElla won the right to represent the country with the song Blue and red.
We managed to take to do an interview with her even with her Eurovision plans being in full swing.
Hello ManuElla, first of all congrats for your win and also big thank you for taking some time to answer our questions. Can you tell us what were your first thoughts when you realised that you will be representing Slovenia this May in Stockholm?
I’m gonna tell you, honestly, there are no words to describe how happy I was. It was one of my biggest wishes since I was a child.
Have you and your team started to make plans regarding your performance in Globen? Will it be different than the one we saw during EMA?
Of course, it will be totally different, because the stage is much, much bigger than the one here. We have a lot to do there, also a lot of practise with our choreographer.
Did you plan to visit some of the pre Eurovision events, like the Concert in Amsterdam, London party?
I believe that I will manage to go to the Concert in Amsterdam, because it is now a tradition for Slovenian representatives. I also know that I’m going to Vienna. And for the other events it is still open.
Have you heard any of this years entries? Did you like any?
I didn’t hear all of them, but now chours of Goodbye is rolling in my head. 🙂
What is your favorite Slovenian Eurovision entry, and also your all time favorite?
Of course it has to be Prisluhni mi by Darje Švajger, who holds the record for the best Slovenian result. And out of the rest, I really love the work of Željko Joksimović, so I would say all of his Eurovision songs. 🙂
And now, the final question. Can you reveal to our readers something about you or your life that most of the people do not know?
I’m sure that almost no one knows that I have relatives that live near Belgrade, so when I’m there I love to eat Serbian barbecue and watch movies. Also I think that the old town Kalemegdan is beautiful.
ManuElla, thank you so much for your time! All the best and see you in Stockholm.
You’re welcome Stefan, it was really a big pleasure. Best regards to your readers! See you in Globen.
