They already have some Eurovision experience. Besides participating at Beovizija in 2006, their frontman, Rastko Aksentijević, went to Istanbul with Željko Joksimović, as part of the AdHoc Orchestra. This year Biber will participate with DJ Niko Bravo, which is the stage name of Nikola Burovac, who wrote a song in the Serbian national final back in 2013. We had a chat with Rastko, and here is what he had to say about the upcoming Beovizija.

Who are Biber and DJ Niko Bravo?

Biber has been doing Serbian traditional music for quite a time, but we do it in a modern way. DJ Niko Bravo is a new DJ here, but he is a well known and established composer.

What were your first thoughts when you found out that you would participate at Beovizija?

I was so glad, as I saw that I have two songs in the running, one that I will perform with Biber and Niko and the other one which will be sung by Ivan Kurtić.

What do you expect out of your participation?

A quality performance, a good result, and maybe even a trip to Lisbon!

What is a typical day like for you?

I spend most of my days in the studio, but in my free time I like to hang out with my friends, watch a movie or some TV series, also if there is some good concert on, I’m all up for that.

Would you be so kind as to tell us something interesting about yourself? Something that isn’t commonly known?

I almost didn’t pursue music, as I was suppose to go into design studies, but I won a guitar contest so I decided to focus on music only.

Can you tell us something about your song?

It is an archaic love story, modeled on ethnic poetry followed by powerful modern rhythms. It combines ethno, pop, and deep house.

Your favorite Eurovision memory?

It has to be my performance with Željko Joksimović in Istanbul in 2004.

Your favorite Eurovision song?

“Lane moje”!

Do you have any message for the Eurovision fans from all around the world?

Keep loving and following Eurovision and I hope you will like our song and also our band!

We would like to thank Rastko Aksentijević for his time and wish Biber and DJ Niko Bravo the best of luck in Beovizija 2018!
