Let’s round up the latest rumours!

One of the biggest rumours for the competition surround Alcazar who may be set to make a sensational return to the competition. Despite entering Melodifestivalen five times and reaching moderate success around Europe, the group are yet to represent Sweden in Eurovision. Could 2018 finally be the year they make it to the contest? Another big rumour is the return Samir & Viktor who lit up Swedish screens in 2016 with a cheeky performance of “Bada nakna” which certainly captured imaginations across Europe. The duo’s entry for Melodifestivalen 2015, “Groupie”, also gained a lot of attention from fans. Will an entry in 2018 capture the imagination in the same way?

Returns are also likely for Benjamin Ingrosso and FO&O frontman Felix Sandman who both entered the competition in 2017.

A lot of the rumours seem to also point towards a much more experienced line-up in 2018, with 54-year-old Kalle Moraeus, 65-year-old country singer and former Melfest participant Kikki Danielsson and 54-year-old Jonas Gardell are all expected to take part, alongside Swedish television personality and historian Edward Blom, who has begun to carve out a singing career in the country and could be a surprise addition to the line-up.

Ida Redig, 2002 runner-up Méndez, Jessica Andersson, Sigrid Bernson, Rolandz, Liam Cacatian Tomassen, Martin Almgren, Kamferdrops and, last but no means least, Mariette, also round off the rumour mill for the competition.

SVT will publically reveal the names of the artists performing in Melodifestivalen 2018 for a chance to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest on 28th November 2017 (next Tuesday). Will any or all of these names feature? We will have to wait and see!
