The preparations for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest are in full swing. The show is scheduled for Saturday 18th February. Today, newcomer Shauna Vassallo has spoken to us about her entry Crazy Games.

Hello

First of all thank you for your time talking to us. How are you? Can you introduce yourselves? What can you tell us about yourself?

I am a 16 year old teenager, very down to earth and friendly.  I have 2 main passions in life, singing and animals.

Your song that you will be presenting for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest is “Crazy Games”. What can you tell us about the song?

My song Crazy Games is very tailored to what my friends and I experience every day, social media, teen relationships, first loves and online messaging.

What was the inspiration for the song, and did you write it specifically for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest and Eurovision?

Yes it was, it is what us as teenagers in today’s world experience.

What is your impression of the Eurovision Song Contest in general? Do you watch it every year? What is your favorite entry?

I have always been super fond of the Eurovision.  It is a family tradition that we each it together every year.  We make a pizza night out of it ☺  Infact the Eurovision was the springboard for me starting my singing career.

My favourite entry would be Ruslana – Wild Dances

Apart from the Eurovision Song Contest , where would you dream to do a performance?

I would love to take part in the UK X Factor.

Do you think performing at the Eurovision Song Contest will have a positive impact on your career?

Definitely as Malta is very restricted in growing your career so taking part in the Eurovision will eventually put you on the map and give your career a boost.

Whats the one thing that might surprise people about you?

I am a big football fan and follow the English Premier League like my life depended on it ☺

Where do we find you on a Sunday Afternoon?

If it is Summer out and about, if it is cold and chilly most probably wearing my pj’s all cuddled up watching TV and football.

What is the best bit of advice you have ever been given?

Never give up on your dreams or aspirations, if you believe in yourself everything is possible in life.

If your life was a song title, what would it be?

Bird Set Free by SIA

What is a typical day like for you?

I go to school, head home, singing lessons and then bed.
