The London Eurovision Party, one of the biggest traditional pre-parties for Eurovision each year, has been postponed as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic and following an update on the current situation from the British government.

The event was due to be held on Sunday 29th March at the Café de Paris in London.

The pre-party joins Pre-Party ES in Madrid, Spain, Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam, Netherlands and Israel Calling in Tel Aviv, Israel in being cancelled or postponed ahead of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

In a statement, the organisers of the annual British contest showpiece stressed that the “priority is always the health and safety of our team”, and that “once we have further clarity on this evolving situation we will announce a new date”.

The statement can be read in full on the LEP’s Instagram page below;

The British government have this afternoon advised its residents to “avoid all non-essential social contact” and indicated that public gatherings would no longer be supported by the British government in the current climate.

Please make sure to stay safe and vigilant regarding the current laws and regulations regarding COVID-19, and make sure to follow the latest guidance from the World Health Organisation and your local government and media.
