As one of the fastest rising selection shows in the national final hierarchy, Supernova has transformed the fortunes of constant strugglers Latvia since its inception in 2015. Aminata and Justs both brought Latvia back to the Eurovision final with the former finishing 6th, although last year’s winner Triana Park could not manage the same feat, coming last in the semi-final.

While doing this, the selection has become known to many with its fresh approach to Eurovision, showcasing a diverse and unique range of Latvian talent, with alternative music becoming the norm.

LTV will be hoping to turn this fortune back around and get back to successful ways in 2018, and today saw the release of this year’s potential Supernova entries to the broadcaster’s website. For the first time, fans will be able to vote on the entries in the internet jury and help to decide which songs make it to Supernova 2018!

The 63 submitted songs and their titles can be found HERE, after user validation with the social media of choice. Listeners can vote up or down songs based on personal preference, with the best songs after this round factoring into the decisions of the selection jury.

Supernova 2018 is expected to take place in January and February 2018 if the format continues from previous years. 22 songs are likely to be chosen by the selection jury on November 5th, with the internet jury phase of the competition closing on October 29th at 23:59 Latvian time.
