In a drama-laden semi-final show, four acts won the chance to compete one last time for Latvia’s golden ticket to Eurovision!

Tonight’s semi-final stage of Supernova saw the eight surviving artists perform once again. After Samanta Tina’s performance, she decided to withdraw her entry “The Love Is Forever” after suggesting it would not be good enough to represent her country at Eurovision. Following this surprising turn of events, seven songs were left to fight for the final places.

With a televote taking place between the seven survivors, two songs made the final on public votes alone;

  • Justs – Heartbeat
  • Catalepsia – Damnation

As with every other round of Supernova so far, the jury consisting of Daumants Kalniņš, Rūdolfs Budze, Intars Busulis and Guntars Račs picked two more qualifiers;

  • MyRadiantU – We Will Be Stars
  • Marta Ritova – Not From This World

These four songs will now be performed again in next Sunday’s final (February 28th), with one being chosen through televoting alone to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
