Well everyone, national final season is well and truly upon us! As the cold winter nights begin to turn a little lighter but the weather stays cold, it’s time to turn to our annual winter warming selection shows across Europe.

Tonight, three more songs join the Eurovision party in Liverpool, a final line-up is decided and Melodifestivalen is finally back!

Here’s everything #YOU need to know to keep track of all of the goings on across Europe on one of the most jam-packed Saturdays in the Eurovision calendar!

LATVIA – Supernova Semi-Final (starts 20:10 CET)

It’s been a tough few years for Latvia at Eurovision, so hopefully this is the year things can change. Can any of this year’s acts bring Latvia to their first Eurovision final since 2016?

The hopefuls in Supernova 2023 are as follows;

  1. Artūrs Hatti – Love Vibes
  2. Alise Haijima – Tricky
  3. Inspo – Sway
  4. Toms Kalderauskis – When It All Falls
  5. Katrine Miller – Beaten Down
  6. Justs – Stranger
  7. Adriana Miglāne – Like I Wanna
  8. 24. Avēnija – You Said
  9. Markus Riva – Forever
  10. Avéi – Let Me Go
  11. Patrisha – Hush
  12. Raum – Fake Love
  13. Luīze – You to Hold Me
  14. Sudden Lights – Aijā

Ten of tonight’s fourteen acts will reach the Supernova final next weekend. A combination of votes from a jury panel and the Latvian televote will decide which of these acts will make it to said final!

LITHUANIA – Pabandom iš naujo! Semi-Final 1 (starts 20:00 CET)

Things are beginning to get more competitive in this year’s Pabandom iš naujo!, as the semi-final stage of the competition arrives.

Tonight, ten songs will be performed, with four songs expected to qualify for the final on 18th February. They are;

  1. Il Senso – Sparnai
  2. Alen Chicco – Do You?
  3. Baiba – When the Lights Go Out
  4. Joseph June – Vacuum
  5. Noy – Destiny’s Child
  6. Petunija – Love of My Life
  7. Justė Kraujelytė – Need More Fun
  8. Gabrielius Vagelis – Šauksmas
  9. Rūta Mur – So Low
  10. Donata – Dreamer

A jury panel and the Lithuanian televote will combine to provide the result of the Lithuanian semi-final.

NORWAY – Melodi Grand Prix 2023 (starts 19:50 CET)

After three weeks of music whittling down the hopefuls in Norway to just nine, tonight sees the winner of Melodi Grand Prix 2023 crowned! But who will it be?

Tonight’s nine finalists are;

  1. Jone – Ekko inni meg
  2. Eline Thorp – Not Meant to Be
  3. Skrellex – Love Again
  4. Ulrikke – Honestly
  5. Umami Tsunami – Geronimo
  6. Atle Pettersen – Masterpiece
  7. Swing’it – Prohibition
  8. Elsie Bay – Love You in a Dream

Can Ulrikke claim her spot at the Eurovision Song Contest finally? Will Elsie Bay’s return take it? Or will another dark horse win over the hearts of the Norwegian televoters and jury? Tune in later to find out Norway’s decision for Liverpool!

SLOVENIA – Misija Liverpool (starts 20:00 CET)

While not necessary a national selection, tonight also sees an important show in Slovenia – Joker Out’s entry “Carpe Diem” will be released finally!

Misija Liverpool will follow the band’s journey to being selected for Eurovision 2023 and arriving at the song they have chosen, before the premiere of “Carpe Diem” on Slovenian television.

SPAIN – Benidorm Fest 2023 (starts 22:00 CET)

With quite an intense week of performances, qualifiers and fun in the sun in Benidorm, it’s crunch time in Spain. Who will triumph in this year’s Benidorm Fest final?

The eight acts taking part in this year’s final are;

  1. Karmento – Quiero y duelo
  2. Megara – Arcadia
  3. Alice Wonder – Yo quisiera
  4. Fusa Nocta – Mi familia
  5. Agoney – Quiero arder
  6. Blanca Paloma – Eaea
  7. José Otero – Inviernos en Marte
  8. Vicco – Nochentera

A combination of an expert jury, a demoscopic jury and the Spanish televote will decide the winner of Benidorm Fest and thus Spain’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

SWEDEN – Melodifestivalen Semi-Final 1 (starts 20:00 CET)

Yes, if tonight wasn’t big enough already – the biggest show in Sweden is back to warm our winter evenings! That’s right, Melodifestivalen is back in town, and the first seven acts are set to take to the stage in Gothenburg this evening. They are;

  1. Tone Sekelius – Rhythm of My Show
  2. Loulou Lamotte – Inga sorger
  3. Rejhan – Haunted
  4. Elov & Beny – Raggen går
  5. Victor Crone – Diamonds
  6. Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos – Länge leve livet
  7. Jon Henrik Fjällgren & Arc North ft. Adam Woods – Where You Are (Sávežan)

A number of notable Melfest returnees are in this semi-final, so it’s going to be a bloodbath! Victor Crone returns, hoping to get back to Eurovision after representing Estonia in 2019, Jon Henrik Fjällgren is back for one more chance at the Melfest title and everyone’s favourite best friends Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos also join in the fun this evening!
