After receiving over 200 submissions, narrowing it down to 9 demos and recording 3 music videos  we finally know which song Eden Alene will sing in Rotterdam. She will represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song Set Me Free.

HaShir Shelanu L’Eurovizion

The song has been chosen 100% by the public vote. People from all over the world could vote last week for their favourite music video. Voting ended tonight at 20:00 CET and while the votes were counted, KAN broadcasted the show HaShir Shelanu L’Eurovizion. During the show presented by Eurovision 2019 host Lucy Ayoub we could see the 3 songs in the running again; Ue La La, Set Me Free and La La Love. Lucy and Eden revealed some background information about the 3 songs in their “Carpool Karaoke” inspired miniserie. After every drive they met with the songwriters of one of the songs.

During the show executive producer Sietse Bakker videocalled with Lucy Ayoub to inform us about the current situation in The Netherlands. He also discussed the 4 different scenario’s about how the Eurovision Song Contest could held and promised us a spectacular opening on the 22th of May. One thing is sure; The Eurovision Song Contest will happen this year no matter what!

Eden’s Eurovision Journey

After winning Israel’s most-watched singing competition The Next Star 2020, Eden was set to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Her song was selected during the show HaShir HaBa L’Eurovizion were she performed the four potential songs. In the end, it was “Feker Libi” that won the hearts from the jury and people at home. Sadly, Eurovision got cancelled due the ongoing pandemic. Nevertheless, KAN believed in Eden Alene and had given her a second chance to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam. We will see her perform Set Me Free on the 18th of May 2021 in the second half of the first semi-final.
