Yesterday, it was revealed that the first act competing at Eurosong among five more acts is Bobbi Arlo. Anyone who tuned in to yesterday’s The Ray D’Arcy Show had a chance to hear more about the song and Bobbi’s creative process in general, as well as the premiere of her competing song Powerplay.

Today, it has been announced that Reylta – Galway’s Alt Folk Queen will be joining Bobbi in the competition for a chance to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest which will take place at Basel, Switzerland with her song Fire.

Known for her sweet and lamenting sounds that, coupled with alternative view, create the ultimate juxtaposition. Inspired by local people and the stories of pain and loss in rural towns, she seeks to connect with others who feel the same.

Relyta began writing when she was eleven, with her musical influences including Florence and the Machine, Damien Rice, and Hozier.

Reyltaโ€™s band is an essential component of her work. The artist composes pieces, and each player brings their unique style influencing the tone and emulating trad performers with a classic, melancholic folk-pop vibe.

Reylta’s first Eurosong interview and the premiere of her song Fire will air today on The Ray D’Arcy Show on RTร‰ Radio 1 from 3pm GMT but until then you can already give it a listen on her website.
