Its been a few weeks since OGAE UK had passed their choices to the BBC from the songs that were sent in from the open selection, and we still haven’t heard anything from the BBC regarding the whole process. But searching the internet we have found some interesting hints as to who could have potentially been selected for the UK’s final shortlist.

A name that hit the rumour mill a few months ago was Team Midas (Dean Maynard) who is a PR agent who has been working with X Factor winner Ben Haenow and Stevie McCrorie the winner of The Voice UK. On a radio show he has stated he wants to being pride back to Eurovision in the UK and his team have entered and if his team gets chosen he will embark on a huge promotion tour.

Xuso Jones who, this week, was named as one of the 6 acts in the Spanish selection, has tweeted that he is on his way to the United Kingdom with the HashTags

One name many UK Eurovision fans have been dreading (from what I have seen online), Jedward‘s name has been thrown into the mix bu an Irish newspaper, stating that they will find out whether they have been shortlisted on New Year’s Day. In a performance a few months ago, the twins were talking about their hopes to represent the UK in Stockholm:

Scottish MP, Pete Wishart, with his band MP4 has been named by a Scottish newspaper, stating that he is hoping to be named as a potential representative for the United Kingdom for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

All these are pretty much just hearsay at this point. But if the Irish newspaper is to be believed the finalists will be told on New Year’s Day, that’s just two days away.
